For centuries, Wudang Mountain has been China's
premiere center for Taoist internal martial arts, including
Tai Chi, swordsmanship and Qigong. Wudang Mountain is the
legendary birthplace of Tai Chi Chuan, said to have been created
there by the 13th century Taoist hermit Zhang Sanfeng. Wudang
was an important feature in Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon.
In July, 2006, 32 Taoist priests from Wudang
made an historic trip to Austin, Texas for eight days. While
there, they performed their world class Taoist martial arts
(kung fu or wushu) and Taoist sacred ceremonial music. This
one of a kind movie records their breathtaking stage performances,
including bonus scenes from their rarely seen sacred ceremonies
performed for the people of Austin and the state of Texas
-- revealed here for all to see and enjoy.
